SUBMIT YOUR ESTONIAN PASSPORT APPLICATION RIGHT HERE IN MELBOURNE

H.E. Peeter Miller, the Ambassador of Estonia in Tokyo, is coming to Melbourne to collect passport applications and certify on-site fingerprint scans, on 2 and 3-Dec-2009.

This opportunity comes only once a year. Normally, you have to fly overseas to lodge your passport application. It doesn't matter if you're after your first passport, or need to renew your expired or lost passport, you simply cannot do it in Australia (except children under 6 yo). The law changed 1-July-2009 when fingerprint scan became compulsory with all new passport applications sumbitted more than 2y from the date your fingerprint scan was last recorded.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is desgned to help people only to lodge their applications, not to provide a consulting service or to be a social function. You are kindly requested to have the following ready and handy when you come to see the Ambassador...

1. Application form, which is filled out in clear, legible print. We recommend completing the form on your computer screen first, and then printing it out for signing. Click here... www.mig.ee/index.php/mg/eng/application_forms/forms_to_be_completed_on_the_screen

2. Passport photo, which has much stricter format than Australian Passport photos. Print out the format description and insist that your photographer reads it... www.pass.ee/index.php/pass/eng/how_to_apply/photo

3. Proof of your Estonian Citizenship. This can be one of the following documents:

  • your expired or expiring Estonian passport
  • your Estonian ID card
  • copy of your lost/stolen passport plus a secondary form of ID
  • certificate of return to Estonia
  • Documentation proving you acquired the citizenship at birth *

4. A valid identification document, with your photo, full name, birth date and signature. E.g.  your current Australian passport.

5. Stamp duty (state fee) of $50 AUD, in cash.

   * see FAQ help on eesti.org.au

Please allow enough time and be patient. There may be 20 people arriving at the same time, each with different level of preparedness. If you need help checking your supporting documentation, please contact your nearest Honorary Consul in advance, or seek help on eesti.org.au.

We're looking forward to seeing you and helping you to get your Estonian Passport!
